IQVIAジャパングループのIQVIAサービシーズ ジャパン合同会社（所在地：東京都港区、社長：宇賀神 史彦、以後「IQVIA」）と、公益財団法人がん研究会 有明病院（所在地：東京都江東区、病院長：佐野 武、以後「がん研有明病院」）は、がん領域における治験実施の促進、および海外で承認されている医薬品が国内では未承認となっている国内ドラッグ・ロスの解消を目指し、治験における戦略的提携契約を締結したことをお知らせいたします。

IQVIAは、約70か国にわたる主要な医療機関との戦略的パートナーシップを通じて、堅固なグローバル治験サイトネットワークを構築しています。このネットワークには、治験の実施において高度なケイパビリティと一貫した高い実績を有する約50のプライムサイトが含まれており、さらに、各地域におけるIQVIAのサイト運営の中核を担う約1,100のパートナーサイトで構成されております。

IQVIAではこれらのサイトとの緊密かつ協調的な関係を築くことにより、革新的な治験へのアプローチを支援しています。このパートナーシップモデルは、治験の実施効率および品質の向上を促進するとともに、患者さんが最先端の治験に参加する機会の拡大にも寄与しています。がん研有明病院は、このIQVIAの治験サイトのネットワークにプライムサイトとして国内ではじめて参加します。今後、両者はがん研有明病院における治験を実施する中で、互いの専門性、知識、経験を活かしながら迅速かつ効率的な治験の実施を目指していきます。この取り組みを通じて、がん研有明病院はより多くの国際共同治験に参加し、その進捗に大きく寄与することで、新薬の国内承認の促進、すなわち国内ドラッグ・ロスの解消に貢献します。

IQVIA Services Japan G.K. and Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR launch strategic clinical trials partnership

IQVIA Services Japan G.K. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumihiko Ugajin), a company of the IQVIA Japan Group, and the Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR (Head office: Koto-ku, Tokyo; Hospital Director: Takeshi Sano) announced today that they have entered into a strategic partnership to promote cancer clinical trials and address Japan’s so-called “drug loss” problem, which refers to the situation in which a drug is approved overseas but not in Japan.

IQVIA has built a robust global network of clinical trial sites through strategic partnerships with leading medical institutions across approximately 70 countries. This network includes around 50 Prime Sites, distinguished for their advanced capabilities and consistent high performance in conducting clinical trials, as well as approximately 1,100 Partner Sites, which serve as the foundational hubs of IQVIA’s site operations within their respective regions.

By fostering close, collaborative relationships with these sites, IQVIA empowers them to adopt innovative approaches to clinical research. This partnership model enhances the efficiency and quality of trial execution while also expanding access for patients to participate in cutting-edge clinical studies.

The Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR will join IQVIA’s network of clinical sites as the first Prime Site in Japan. Both parties will aim to conduct clinical trials at the Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR quickly and effectively by leveraging each other’s expertise, knowledge and experience. Through this initiative, the Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR aims to actively participate in a greater number of international collaborative clinical trials and make significant contributions to their progress. This is expected to accelerate the domestic approval of new drugs and ultimately contribute to resolving the issue of domestic drug loss.
