In this fast-paced 1-hour virtual event, you’ll hear from experts whose content was recently featured in our IQVIA Applied AI Science Newsletter. They will share deeper insights into their work, which is helping customers transform patient data into powerful AI-enabled insights.
The hour will consist of three back-to-back live presentations, each followed by an interactive Q&A session with the presenter.
[PRESENTATION #1 – 10 mins + Q&A]
[Live Demo] From Fragmented Health Data to Trustworthy Real‑World Evidence
Presented by Orsolya Bali, Director of Ontology Platform, IQVIA’s Center for Health Data Semantics
Clinicians describe health information in words, while IT systems rely on codes. However, those words and codes aren’t consistent. Multiple names and code sets for the same drug, condition, or concept fragment healthcare data, limiting its use at scale. In this session, you’ll see a real-world use case and live product demo that show how ontology-driven code lists can standardize data into analytics-ready cohorts, helping to reduce bias and generate more trustworthy real-world evidence.
[PRESENTATION #2 – 10 mins + Q&A]
Text De-identification: Pragmatic Approaches to Defensibly Enabling Free-Text Insights
Presented by Brian Rasquinha, PhD, Associate Director, Solution Architecture, IQVIA’s Privacy Analytics
Explore how pharma leaders can harness advanced de-identification techniques for free text. You’ll learn how text de-identification works, common pitfalls, and how a robust approach can unlock valuable free-text data while protecting patient privacy. We’ll share an overview of our process, along with tips, tricks and real customer examples that show how effective de-identification enables deeper data insights.
[PRESENTATION #3 – 10 mins + Q&A]
Predictive Analytics and Care Gap Management: Deployment Considerations for Clinical Care
Presented by Matt Hackenberg, BSN RN, Director, Predictive Analytics, IQVIA Applied AI Science
Medical-event prediction and clinical decision support tools help healthcare organizations anticipate patient needs, close care gaps and improve outcomes. These insights are increasingly important to pharma in areas such as research, real-world evidence and value demonstration. SMART on FHIR is a standard that enables healthcare applications to securely connect to electronic health records. In this session, you’ll learn how SMART on FHIR helps integrate predictive tools into clinician workflows, the challenges to adoption, and how scalable deployment can support broader use cases while reducing long-term IT burdens.
Orsolya leads the development and strategic direction of the Semantic Suite. Her recent focus has been on building scalable semantic platforms, guiding organizations in adopting tools that support nationwide implementation of semantic standards, and coordinating product strategy and planning across a diverse group of stakeholders.
Brian has 8 years of experience driving business outcomes with pragmatic privacy solutioning and advisory for prominent medical device, life sciences and health IT organizations. He is also the Program Director of the Executive Advisory Board on building trusted data strategies to drive innovation.
Matt is a Director at IQVIA responsible for implementing new AI offerings deployed into the clinician workflow. His responsibilities include business development, clinical use-case ideation and content deployment within complex clinical workflows, as well as aligning accountabilities within the care team structure.
