The Time Has Come to Improve the Value and ROI of Data and System Investments
IQVIA's virtual conference, Fusion 2021 – Connected Intelligence, uncovers solutions to merge disparate datasets to generate more powerful insights

On May 17 and 18, ValueCentric, an IQVIA company, will host its annual Fusion conference virtually. This year the buzz is all around Connected IntelligenceTM and how to make the most of your valuable data assets. Access to data is expanding rapidly throughout the industry and the more that life sciences companies can leverage those datasets, the more value they can generate. Yet most large healthcare data still reside in silos, which limits their potential value and usability.

Data collected from channel data partners, pharmacy claims, specialty patient providers, and other sources each offer a glimpse of what’s happening in the marketplace on their own, but if you only look at each dataset individually, you may be at a disadvantage; if the data can be connected and analyzed together, you may generate more valuable insights and stronger return on your investment.

This obstacle prevents life sciences companies from understanding the true nature of the marketplace, how to properly identify opportunities to increase market access and brand awareness, and how to maximize revenue with minimal overhead.

IQVIA’s ValueTrak platform has solved this challenge by offering manufacturers the ability to connect and analyze multiple data assets in a single environment for more robust results. This connectivity means together, sales, market access, and finance can introduce more intelligence into their product strategies and patient programs management combining third-party data with internal datasets to generate new knowledge and value.

Fusing data and technology

The subject matter experts (SMEs) speaking at Fusion 2021 will explore the many ways that technology and service can unlock value from data – value you might not even be aware of – and how to go about applying it.

The heart of this solution is ValueTrak, IQVIA’s industry leading data management and analytics platform. ValueTrak collects and aggregates data from multiple distributors, pharmacies, and third-party data pools to streamline and expand your analytics capabilities. The data is processed in real time and is validated through proprietary data management technologies to ensure accuracy and is available for analysis on demand through the cloud-based platform.

This real-time integrated environment makes it possible to analyze multiple healthcare datasets simultaneously as part of an optimal product and patient strategy. Life sciences companies can use it to monitor trends around sales performance and inventory positions, measure performance against critical brand KPIs specific to any partner company or product, and to make intelligent connections between trends which will uncover new opportunities to improve outcomes for their patients and business.

The depth and breadth of the data that ValueTrak can access and analyze means users don’t just see how their product is doing in the marketplace; they can examine their brand through a much wider lens and can learn why certain trends are occurring. For example, if sales dollars of a product are down in a particular region, they could determine whether it was caused by a steep copay, limited access, or a region-specific trend. With an integrated platform like ValueTrak, users are able to discover new insights, allowing them to take a more targeted response to course correct or amend their strategies.

Can’t-miss sessions

Throughout the two-day virtual event, SMEs will explore the many benefits of how Connected IntelligenceTM using industry-leading healthcare data improves product access and patient outcomes.

Some highlight sessions include Fusion’s opening presentation by Cam Hall, senior director of products and strategy for IQVIA. Hall will explore the evolution of the data landscape and how organizations can maximize big healthcare data through state-of-the-art technology for your products and patients.

Later that day, Hari Rayapudi, principal of specialty data strategy and consulting services for IQVIA, will discuss how new technologies can bring greater precision to the analysis process in order to deliver interventions precisely at the right time, through the right channel, with the right context.

On Tuesday, Doug Long, vice president of industry relations for IQVIA, will dig into the 2021 U.S. Pharmaceutical Market report, exploring the trends, issues, and outlook for the coming year. In this session, Long will provide an up-to-the-minute analysis of the pharmaceutical market, offering predictions about what lies ahead as the healthcare industry continues to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

Along with several big picture training sessions, IQVIA’s ValueTrak Training Manager, David Pecenco, will offer several presentations on how to get the most value from the ValueTrak platform to maximize the value of data assets.

Be prepared

The healthcare data landscape is changing rapidly and has only accelerated in recent months. Preparing your organization to be at the forefront of this change requires a more agile approach to data analytics. Whether you are looking at the same data on a regular basis, looking to guarantee everyone is on the same page, or just want the ability to conduct more robust analytics quickly and easily, the sessions at Fusion 2021 will showcase how adding new datasets can generate more powerful insights and produce more value from the data you use every day.
