Capture the patient experience across the full trial process, from strategy to dissemination of results.

This scientific poster presented at the 2025 ISPOR EU annual conference examines the challenges of migrating clinical outcome assessments (COAs) from paper to electronic formats (eCOA) in clinical trials. It highlights how errors can arise due to operational pressures and technical complexities. The team developed and validated the IQVIA Migration Error Severity Scale (I-MESS), a tool that systematically identifies and rates migration errors by severity, enabling organizations to prioritize corrections and improve data quality. Analysis across eight studies revealed that migration errors are widespread and vary in severity, underscoring the need for routine, scientific evaluation—especially as new technologies like AI are integrated into migration processes to further enhance quality and reliability.

IQVIA’s Patient Centered Solutions (PCS) team are experts in the measurement of the patient experience during intervention development. This includes the use of Clinical Outcome Assessments (COAs) which consist of Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs), Clinician Reported Outcomes (ClinROs), Observer Reported Outcomes (ObsROs), and Performance Outcomes (PerfOs). Below we highlight several of our publications that we make available for download that provide deeper insight on how best to capture and analyze this important patient data.
