COVID-19 Podcast Series

U.S. Post COVID-19 Scenario Planning

Explore potential scenarios that the U.S. healthcare industry could face post COVID-19, and the strategies for where and how to compete in this evolving landscape.

In these two episodes, Mason Tenaglia, IQVIA’s Vice President of U.S. Thought Leadership, will explore four scenarios that have been developed based on a robust exercise conducted by IQVIA U.S. experts. He will also discuss the implications of each scenario for U.S. business and care delivery models over the next 18-24 months.

Episode 1

COVID-19 will have a lasting impact on U.S. business and care delivery models. In a two-episode series, explore four different scenarios for a post COVID-19 world. In the first of two episodes, learn about the exercise conducted to develop the four scenarios and explore the two high-impact scenarios, The Long Night and Too Many Moving Parts

The Long Night: Plans for high impact in the U.S. that would continue beyond the next 18 months with no effective disease management before 2022.

Too Many Moving Parts: Plans based on the assumption that some COVID-19 impact continues for 18 months or more, but that management options exist for vulnerable or high-priority populations.

To explore the two low-impact scenarios, listen to Scenario planning for a post COVID-19 world (part 2)

Episode 2

In the second episode of a two-part series, explore two low-impact scenarios for a post-COVID-19 world, Journey Disrupted and Reputation Reborn.

Journey Disrupted: Plans based on a coordinated national-level healthcare policy that would limit surges in COVID-19 infections and accelerate the reopening of non-urban areas in some states.

Reputation Reborn: Plans based on the idea that the virus would subside or be “under control” by mid-2021 due to effective disease management and therapies.

To explore the two high-impact scenarios, listen to  Scenario planning for a post COVID-19 world (Ep. 1)
