COPENHAGEN, DENMARK. – June 30, 2021 – The Danish National Genome Center has entered into an agreement with IQVIA to deliver a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The contract was awarded to IQVIA Denmark after a national bidding process lasting for more than a year.

The system that will support the Genome Center in managing genomes from patients is developed by IQVIA partner Sapio Sciences - a leading provider of Laboratory Management Systems based in the US. IQVIA Denmark will deliver consulting services in a contract period for four years.

IQVIA will deliver consulting services based on local knowledge and global expertise

IQVIA already collaborates with IQVIA England and has deep healthcare and life sciences domain expertise to manage and curate real-world data with advanced analytical technologies. Kenneth Mikkelsen, General Manager IQVIA Denmark elaborates on these capabilities and the opportunities with genomics data:

“We already have a solid foothold in the Danish Healthcare Sector serving several Government agencies and hospitals. We are very pleased to expand this foothold with an organization like The Danish National Genome Center that is on an extremely interesting journey, which is critical to accelerate treatment advancements for patients.”

IQVIA is globally committed to make a difference in healthcare and a strategic collaboration like this partnership with The Danish National Genome Center and Sapio Sciences will support the company in the advancement of patient care through better prevention, earlier diagnosis and more targeted treatment for patients in Denmark.

“Sapio is very pleased to partner with IQVIA in this important initiative at the DNGC. Exemplar’s unmatched informatics platform allowed Sapio to demonstrate its ability to meet the extensive requirements for this project during the rigorous system evaluation. The analytical and intelligent approach taken by DNGC throughout the vendor selection process serves as a model for other organizations to follow so vendors are required to prove they can meet important requirements by showing capabilities, instead of just describing them. said Kevin Cramer, Chief Scientist at Sapio Sciences. He added “IQVIA does great work, and we look forward to working closely with them going forward.”
