Around 8% of the Nordic population suffers from asthma. Numerous patients have uncontrolled asthma despite adherence to therapy and proper use of inhalers, which imposes a heavy burden on patients, care givers and the healthcare system.

This report focuses on biologics that are used as add-on therapies for severe forms of asthma, with the initiation of biologic treatment being advised as a last step in the treatment guidelines.
