Delivering Joined-Up Care in One South West via a Shared Care Record

“IQVIA employs experienced people, passionate about the NHS. It always felt like they were just a part of our team. The work has been a real success. Their knowledge of the region enabled them to identify resources that had tangible benefits to Devon and Cornwall. We will continue to use the team in the future because they understand so well how the NHS operates”

Improving treatment utilisation and adherence to clinical guidelines in Asthma

IQVIA partnered with an ICS to improve asthma management for patients at risk of poor outcomes by increasing adherence to clinical guidelines. Through a quality improvement programme delivered across 52 practices, clinical pharmacists conducted targeted reviews and optimised treatment plans. This approach enabled large-scale patient identification and prioritisation, delivered thousands of virtual consultations, and significantly improved medication use and care planning—resulting in better patient engagement, increased uptake of personalised asthma action plans, and more proactive, guideline-aligned care.

Using Cost Benchmarking Data for Effective Bone Complication Management

Using IQVIA HOB Cost Benchmarking data, IQVIA analysed secondary care activity focusing on patients with solid tumours experiencing bone complications. The analysis used aggregated data across inpatient care, outpatient activity, emergency visits, medicines and pathology to assess the impact of treatment on both patient outcomes and NHS resource use.

The findings showed that effective, proactive treatment was associated with fewer fractures, reduced A&E attendances, fewer hospital admissions and shorter lengths of stay; translating into better quality of life for patients while reducing costs and easing pressure on NHS services.
